Blue Cellulose Series #3
Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) is a pioneering woody species commonly found in overgrown pastures, fields, fence lines, and wood lot edges. Wood from this tree is very dense, displaying a brown and pale-yellow sapwood. Perhaps most interesting is the natural fluorescence found in the wood which can be observed under a blacklight! Once under a blacklight this wood will emit a strong yellow-green glow.
