Cross-cut Pin Oak Cookies
Pin Oak falls into the red oak group, and shares many of the same traits as Red Oak (Quercus rubra). Pin oak (Quercus palustris) is harvested commercially for lumber and commonly used in flooring, furniture, and veneer. Although there is a fair amount of variation in the wood, this species tends to be a pale brown color and have more knots than other oak species due to excessive branching.
